Zakynthos Port sits in the principal harbour of Zakynthos (Zante), the southernmost major Ionian island, with 45 superyacht berths in the town port beneath the Venetian-era hilltop kastro. The island is famous worldwide for Navagio Beach (the Shipwreck Beach on the inaccessible north-west coast) and the loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta) that nest on the south-coast beaches — making it a high-summer destination with environmental protocols restricting parts of the south coast.
The Zakynthian pantry is distinct from the Aegean. Olive oil from the Zakynthian groves — Italian-influenced traditions from the Venetian period. Wines: Verdea (an indigenous oxidative white made on Zakynthos in a sherry-like style, found nowhere else), Mavrodaphne, plus Robola from Cephalonia (north). Zakynthian specialties: ladenia (a flatbread with tomato and olive oil), skordostoumbi (a vinegar-and-garlic preparation), the local sausages. Cheese: ladotyri (aged in olive oil) and small island production. Fresh fish from Zakynthos boats. Mainland sourcing via daily ferry from Killini.
Yachting season runs May through September. Zakynthos suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery to anchorages on the inaccessible western cliffs (Navagio bay, the Blue Caves) and the protected south-coast bays (Marathonisi, the turtle nesting area requires environmental protocols).
