Saint-Tropez is the address that built the Côte d'Azur as a yachting destination. From May through September, the Vieux Port frames a stage where the iconic order of Sénéquier, Le Quai and Club 55 plays out daily — and where 120 superyacht berths put the world's largest charters within walking distance of the village bakeries, fishmongers and chefs. The port itself is compact and historic; what surrounds it is the densest cluster of luxury food infrastructure in the Mediterranean.
Provisioning here draws on the full Provençal pantry. Olive oil from the Vallée des Baux and the Haut-Var, tomatoes and peppers from the local plain, lamb from Sisteron, truffles in season from the inland villages. The Tuesday and Saturday morning market on Place des Lices is the entry point for herbs, fresh produce, charcuterie, goat cheeses from the arrière-pays and Provençal rosé from estates that often deliver direct. Fresh fish is sourced from the Sète and Marseille auctions and arrives daily at suppliers along the Var coast. For specialty work — caviar, foie gras, A5 wagyu, allergen-specific menus — Saint-Tropez suppliers maintain relationships with the same houses that serve the Michelin restaurants of nearby Ramatuelle and Gassin.
The season is sharply concentrated: opening softens in May, peak runs from mid-July through August, and Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez in late September is the de facto closing. Outside peak weeks, lead times of 24 hours are workable; during August or major events plan 48 to 72 hours for special orders and book wine allocations a week ahead.
