Port Moselle Marina sits in the centre of Nouméa, the capital of New Caledonia, with 200 berths in the principal French Pacific marina facility. New Caledonia is a French overseas territory in the South Pacific (a French collectivity since 1853) — the largest French Pacific presence, with full French infrastructure overlaid on Kanak Melanesian heritage, and the most distinctive French-Pacific pantry of the South Pacific.
The New Caledonian pantry is uniquely French-Melanesian. Le bougna — the traditional Kanak Melanesian dish (taro, sweet potato, yam, coconut milk, fish or chicken, cooked in banana leaves in an earth oven). French Pacific seafood: poulpe (octopus, particularly the Pacific reef octopus), red bourgeois (the prized Pacific snapper), mahi-mahi, yellowfin tuna, sea bream, blue marlin, walu, mangrove crab. French Pacific wines (limited local production but extensive French metropolitan imports). Tahitian vanilla via Pacific trade routes. Australian Wagyu via Brisbane staging. New Zealand lamb. French charcuterie and cheeses via direct France-Nouméa air freight (the most extensive French-metropolitan supply chain in the South Pacific). French boulangerie tradition at Nouméa standard. Halal infrastructure: limited but present given the small Muslim community. International sourcing via La Tontouta International Airport (45 km north).
Yachting season runs April through November. Port Moselle suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with the most extensive French-metropolitan supply depth in the South Pacific.
