Skopelos Town Port sits in the natural bay of Skopelos Chora on the eastern coast of Skopelos, with 80 berths in the principal port of the central Sporades. Skopelos is the greenest of the Sporades islands — over 80% of the island is covered in pine forest and olive groves — and was internationally identified through the 2008 film "Mamma Mia!" (the iconic Agios Ioannis chapel scenes were filmed on the north coast of the island). The Skopelos Chora is one of the most preserved Sporades old towns, with traditional Skopelitan architecture (stone houses with timber-framed upper floors and grey slate roofs).
