Port Tino Rossi is the historic marina of Ajaccio, capital of Corsica, with 65 superyacht berths in the natural Gulf of Ajaccio beneath the citadel and the old town where Napoleon Bonaparte was born in 1769. Ajaccio is the south-Corsican administrative and cultural capital and the principal western-Corsican yachting hub, gateway to the Sanguinaires islands and the Golfe d'Ajaccio's protected anchorages.
The pantry is Corsican with the south-west specifics. AOP Corsican charcuterie (coppa, lonzu, prisuttu, panzetta), brocciu AOP fresh sheep cheese, maquis and chestnut grove honey. Wines from the Ajaccio AOC zone — the white Vermentinu and reds dominated by the Sciaccarellu grape (very Ajaccio-specific, found nowhere else in significant quantity). Sartène AOC immediately south. Olive oil from the Balagne (the Corsican AOC olive oil region, in the north of the island). Daily Ajaccio fish market — sea bream, scorpionfish, lobster, octopus, sea urchin, denti. Specialty providers maintain Corsican wine allocations and the Sciaccarellu/Niellucciu indigenous-grape sourcing distinctive to the south-west.
Yachting season runs late May through September with peaks summer. Ajaccio suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery to the Sanguinaires and Gulf of Ajaccio bays.
