Port de Cassis sits at the eastern entry to the Marseille Calanques National Park, with 40 superyacht berths in the small picturesque harbour beneath the limestone cliffs of Cap Canaille (the highest sea cliff of France) and the village of Cassis. The Calanques — the chain of fjord-like inlets cut into the limestone between Cassis and Marseille — are one of the most distinctive coastal landscapes of the Mediterranean and the principal tender destination from the port.
The pantry is built around Cassis AOC and the Calanques fishing tradition. Cassis AOC whites — the only French wine appellation famous for its still white wines, made from Marsanne, Clairette and Ugni Blanc on the limestone hills above the village. Bandol AOC reds from 15 km east. AOP Var olive oils. Provençal specialties: bouillabaisse, soupe au pistou, panisses, anchoïade, tapenade. Fresh fish from local Cassis boats — sea urchin from the Calanques is a Cassis specialty, in season November to April. Sea bass, daurade royale, rouget, baudroie. The Calanques are a national park with strict sustainability fishing protocols; local suppliers operate under those rules.
Yachting season runs April through October with peaks summer. Cassis suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery to yachts anchored in the Calanques (Sormiou, Sugiton, En-Vau, Port-Miou, Port-Pin).
