Port de Plaisance Toga sits north of Bastia, with 65 superyacht berths in the modern marina basin that serves as the principal yachting infrastructure of the Corsican north-east coast. Bastia is the gateway to Cap Corse — the long mountainous peninsula stretching north from the city — and the principal Corsican ferry hub for the mainland (Marseille, Toulon, Nice, Genoa, Livorno).
The pantry is north-Corsican. AOP Corsican charcuterie (coppa, lonzu, prisuttu from Nustrale pigs), brocciu AOP fresh sheep cheese, AOP maquis and chestnut grove honey. Wines: Patrimonio AOC — Corsica's most prestigious appellation, on the limestone hills 15 km west of Bastia, the Niellucciu-based reds and Vermentinu whites are the island's reference. Coteaux du Cap Corse AOC and Muscat du Cap Corse (a famous sweet wine from the peninsula). Olive oil from the Balagne AOC zone (40 km west). Fresh fish from the Bastia auction and Cap Corse fishermen. Several Cap Corse villages (Centuri, Macinaggio, Erbalunga) have small-scale producers of preserved fish (tonno, anchois) and citron confit.
Yachting season runs May through September with peaks summer. Bastia suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery to Cap Corse anchorages.
