The Vieux Port sits at the eastern end of the Croisette, between the Palais des Festivals and the old quarter of Le Suquet. With 90 superyacht berths and a quay that hosts the Cannes Lions, the Yachting Festival and the Film Festival in succession, it is one of the most intensively used ports in Europe — and one of the best served on the supply side. The neighbourhood of fishmongers, butchers, fromagers and épiciers around the Marché Forville has fed yachts since before the Croisette was paved.
The local kitchen is Niçois with a strong Italian thread. Olive oil from the AOP Nice valleys, mesclun and edible flowers from market gardens above Cagnes, fresh fish from the Saint-Laurent-du-Var auction, charcuterie and cheeses from the Mercantour villages. Marché Forville (daily except Monday) handles produce, herbs, cheeses and seasonal specialties — courgette flowers and small artichokes in spring, peaches and figs from June, white truffles from October. Wine suppliers carry Provence rosé alongside Bandol, the Bellet appellation just above Nice, and Italian allocations from Liguria. Several suppliers maintain Halal, Kosher and strict-diet protocols, given the events calendar.
The season opens early — the Cannes Lions in mid-June already brings yacht traffic — and stays intense through September. Festival weeks (Film in May, Lions in June, Yachting in September) compress demand sharply; for those weeks book at least a week ahead, especially for wine, caviar, A5 wagyu and bespoke crew catering.
