Port de Propriano sits in the Golfe de Valinco on the south-west coast of Corsica, with 50 superyacht berths in the principal yachting port of the gulf. Propriano is the natural base for charters working the Sartène hinterland — the granite hills above the town are the heart of the Sartène AOC, producing some of Corsica's most distinctive wines — and provides access to the wild beaches of the south-west coast. The pantry is built around Sartène AOC at source. Sartène AOC reds (Niellucciu and especially Sciaccarellu, which reaches its fullest expression in the Sartène granite soils — concentrated, perfumed, distinctive) and Sartène AOC whites (Vermentinu). The bodegas are within fifteen minutes of the port and offer direct trade — Domaine Sant Armettu, Clos Canarelli, Domaine de Saparale, others. AOP Corsican charcuterie (coppa, lonzu, prisuttu from Nustrale pigs in the Sartène mountains), brocciu AOP, AOP maquis honey. Balagne AOC olive oil. Fresh fish from local Propriano boats. The Sartène hinterland produces small-scale lamb, mountain cheese, chestnut flour preparations. Yachting season runs late May through September with peaks summer. Propriano suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery to the Golfe de Valinco bays (Campomoro, Belvédère).
