Port de Toulon sits in the deep natural harbour of Toulon, the principal French naval base on the Mediterranean, with 80 superyacht berths in the working commercial-and-pleasure port beneath Mont Faron. The port is operational year-round and is the principal Var-coast hub outside the polished resort ports — the largest of the western Côte d'Azur, with full ferry connections to Corsica and Sardinia and direct rail access to Paris and Marseille.
The pantry is Provençal-Marseillais. Bandol AOC reds (Bandol itself is 15 km west — the Mourvèdre vineyards on the Sanary coast). Cassis AOC whites from the Marseille calanques 60 km west. Côtes de Provence rosé from the inland Var. AOP Var olive oils. Toulon-specific Provençal cuisine: bouillabaisse marseillaise crossover (Toulon and Marseille share the bouillabaisse tradition), panisses, soupe au pistou, anchois de Collioure-style preparations, tapenade, anchoïade, brandade de morue. Fresh fish from the Toulon auction. Specialty providers handle the full operational scale of a working commercial port year-round.
Yachting season runs effectively year-round given the commercial traffic. Sharp peaks during the Var summer fleet (July-August) and the Voiles de Saint-Tropez (late September). Toulon suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning.
