Port du Lavandou sits on the eastern Côte des Maures, with 40 superyacht berths in the working harbour opposite the Iles d'Or (Porquerolles, Port-Cros, Île du Levant). The town is the principal mainland departure point for the islands and a quieter alternative to the Saint-Tropez economy fifteen kilometres east. The Maures massif rises immediately behind the village. The pantry is Provençal. Côtes de Provence rosé from the Maures coast appellation, Bandol AOC reds (Bandol itself is 80 km west — Mourvèdre vineyards on the Sanary coast). AOP Nice and Var olive oils. Provençal specialties: tapenade, anchoïade, daube provençale, ratatouille, soupe au pistou. Fresh fish from local Lavandou boats and the Saint-Laurent-du-Var auction. Maures massif inland: wild boar, chestnuts, mountain honey, AOC Banon goat cheese. Port-Cros National Park (the marine reserve) immediately offshore enforces strict sustainability protocols for nearby fishing. Yachting season runs May through September with peaks late July and August. Lavandou suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery to Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Île du Levant. The islands themselves have minimal on-island sourcing — most provisioning is staged from Lavandou or Hyères.
