Port de Saint-Laurent-du-Var sits at the mouth of the Var river, on the western edge of Nice, with 50 superyacht berths in a modern marina basin five minutes from Nice Côte d'Azur airport. The port is operationally distinctive on the Côte d'Azur — it hosts the principal fish auction (Halle aux Poissons de Saint-Laurent-du-Var, the Mercato Ittico of the Riviera) where most Côte d'Azur restaurants and yacht catering accounts source their fresh fish.
The pantry is Niçois with the unique advantage of direct fish auction access. AOP Nice olive oil from the Roya, Bevera and Vésubie valleys. Bellet AOC wines (Folle Noire reds, Rolle whites) — the Saint-Laurent valleys are at the appellation's edge. Niçois specialties: socca, pissaladière, daube niçoise, stockfish. Daily auction fish: loup de mer, daurade, rouget, anchois, sardines, baudroie, octopus, sea urchin in season. Several specialty providers in Saint-Laurent maintain HACCP-grade cold chain for direct yacht delivery — the auction-to-quayside chain is exceptionally short here, the shortest on the Côte d'Azur.
Yachting season runs April through October with peaks during Monaco events and August. Saint-Laurent-du-Var suppliers handle same-day on fish ordered before the morning auction (06h00 finish) and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning. Airport proximity (3 km) makes the port a natural staging hub for charter starts and air-freighted specialty items.
