Port de Sainte-Maxime sits opposite Saint-Tropez across the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, with 55 superyacht berths in the modern marina basin of one of the original Côte d'Azur resort towns. Quieter and family-oriented compared to Saint-Tropez, Sainte-Maxime serves long-stay owners and charters wanting Gulf-of-Saint-Tropez access without the Tropezienne mooring scramble.
The pantry is identical to Saint-Tropez's: Côtes de Provence rosé from the surrounding appellation, Bandol AOC reds, AOP Nice and Var olive oils. Provençal specialties: tapenade, anchoïade, daube, ratatouille, pieds et paquets. Saint-Tropez Place des Lices market (Tuesday and Saturday) is fifteen minutes by tender. Fresh fish from Saint-Laurent-du-Var auction and local boats. Truffles from the Var inland villages in season (October-January white, November-March black). Specialty providers in Sainte-Maxime serve the second-home villa economy and coordinate with Saint-Tropez restaurants for tender catering.
Yachting season runs May through September with sharp peaks late July and August around the Pampelonne beach economy and the Voiles de Saint-Tropez (late September). Sainte-Maxime suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning.
