Yacht catering in Porto di Panarea, Italy

40 superyacht berthsAeolian Malvasia DOC and Lipari capers · Panarea small-boat fresh fish · Basiluzzo and Lisca Bianca sea urchin
Porto di Panarea is a mooring field rather than a marina, set off the smallest of the seven inhabited Aeolian Islands, with 40 buoy moorings in the open bay opposite the village of San Pietro. Panarea is the chic Aeolian — the smallest inhabited island, no cars (only golf carts and porters), and the international summer destination of choice for Italian, Roman and Milanese society. The mooring field is congested in August. The pantry is Aeolian — sourced from Lipari (10 nautical miles south) for almost everything, with a small number of on-island producers for fresh items. Aeolian Malvasia DOC, capperi delle Lipari, pane cunsato, fresh fish from the Panarea boats and surrounding waters. The famous offshore stacks — Basiluzzo, Spinazzola, Lisca Bianca, Bottaro — make for the iconic anchorages around the island, and the volcanic seabed produces some of the most distinctive sea urchin and fish of the archipelago. Restaurant culture on the island (Hycesia, Da Pina, Da Adelina) is exceptional for the small size, and several supply chains support catering-grade delivery directly to moored yachts. Yachting season runs late May through September with very sharp peaks in August. Panarea has limited on-island provisioning depth — most full provisioning is staged from Lipari with daily ferry/boat coordination. Fresh items are same-day; full runs at 24 to 48 hours from Lipari, 48 to 72 hours from the mainland.
