ACI Marina Korčula sits beneath the Venetian walls of Korčula old town, on the long Pelješac-Korčula island channel of southern Dalmatia, with 50 superyacht berths in the natural harbour. Korčula is one of the most distinctive Dalmatian islands — claimed birthplace of Marco Polo (the house traditionally identified as his is in the old town), with a strong indigenous wine tradition and the Moreška sword dance performed weekly during summer.
The southern Dalmatian / Korčula pantry centres on indigenous wines. Pošip — the indigenous white grape that reaches its fullest expression on Korčula (the villages of Smokvica and Čara on the central island are the appellation's heart), producing structured aromatic whites. Grk — a rare white grape grown only on the southern Korčula coast around Lumbarda, in sandy soil that supports no other variety. Plavac Mali — the indigenous Dalmatian red, with Pelješac (across the channel) producing the most concentrated versions in the Dingač and Postup positions. Olive oil from the Korčula hills. Dalmatian charcuterie. Korčula specialties: žrnovski makaruni (a hand-rolled pasta), the Korčula fresh fish tradition. Paški sir PDO from Pag.
Yachting season runs May through October with sharp peaks summer. Korčula suppliers handle same-day on fresh items and 24 to 48 hours on full provisioning, with tender delivery to anchorages on Korčula, Pelješac (across the narrow channel) and Mljet (the national park island).
