Sığacık Teos Marina sits in the Seferihisar district south of İzmir, with 500 berths in the modern D-Marin-managed marina facility. Sığacık is the principal port of the Cittaslow Seferihisar — Turkey's first International Cittaslow (slow city) member since 2009, recognising the town's commitment to local food production, traditional crafts and preserved village character. The marina sits at the entrance to the ancient Greek city of Teos (8th century BC, the cult centre of Dionysus, with the iconic Temple of Dionysus by Hermogenes of Priene — one of the principal Ionian Greek architectural monuments), with the small Sığacık village preserved within the Genoese walls (built 1521).
The Sığacık-Seferihisar pantry is the Turkish slow food benchmark.
