Mljet Polače Port sits in the natural bay of Polače on the northern coast of Mljet, with 60 berths and mooring buoys in the protected anchorage of one of the most distinctive Croatian islands. Mljet is the southernmost large Dalmatian island and one of the greenest of the Croatian Adriatic — over two-thirds of the island is covered in dense Aleppo pine forest. The western part of the island is the Mljet National Park (established 1960, one of the oldest Adriatic national parks), with the iconic two saltwater lakes (Veliko and Malo Jezero) and the 12th-century Benedictine monastery on the small island of Saint Mary in the middle of the larger lake.
The Mljet pantry is the most local Dalmatian. Mljet wild herbs and honey (the island's pine-forest hillsides produce a distinctive forest honey). Mljet olive oil (small-scale, traditional). Adriatic seafood from the Mljet fishing fleet (the bay produces excellent crab, lobster and sea urchin). Limited specialty depth on-site — most volume sourcing arrives by boat from Korčula (15 km north-east, 1-hour passage) or from Pelješac (Orebić, 12 km, 45-minute passage), both of which have full supplier infrastructure. Pelješac Plavac Mali (Postup, Dingač from the cooperatives 12 km north). Pošip Korčula whites. Dalmatian pršut. Mali Ston Bay oysters via Pelješac.
Yachting season runs May through October. Mljet Polače suppliers handle same-day on fresh items where available and 48-72 hours on broader provisioning via Korčula or Pelješac staging, with tender delivery to Mljet National Park anchorages and the saltwater lakes.
